6. Why Do We Collect/Process Your Data?
6.1 We only collect and process personal data in ways you, the candidate, would expect, in relation to our recruitment activities.
6.2 Where you, the candidate, appoint us to notify you of job opportunities and/or provide your details to potential future employers then our lawful basis for processing your personal data is contractual.
6.3 Where we process your personal data for speculative opportunities, then our lawful basis for processing your personal data is the legitimate interest of McCourt Newton as a professional Executive Search & Selection Recruitment consultancy.
6.4 Where we are acting on behalf of a Client, then our lawful basis for processing any personal data of data subjects employed by or working on behalf of that Client will be contractual.
6.5 We may wish to contact you to make suggestions and recommendations to you about positions or recruitment news that may be of interest to you.
6.6 We may wish to feature some candidates in our candidate brochure for marketing purposes, which we will only do with your consent.
6.7 We may monitor and record communications with you (such as telephone conversations and emails) for the purpose of quality assurance.
6.8 Where we need to collect personal data under the terms of a contract we have with you, such as to progress an application, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the services we are trying to offer you.
7. How Do We Collect Your Data?
7.1 We collect and process data given to us by you via our Site, or via direct telephone, email, face to face or other communication between yourself and McCourt Newton Ltd.

8. How Long Do We Keep Your Data?
8.1 Any data we collect will be processed and stored securely, for no longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was first collected, e.g. for consideration against a particular role we are recruiting. 8.2 Any data we collect will be deleted no later than 12 months after the opportunity you contacted us about, or we contacted you about, has been completed, unless you agree to your details being retained on file as set out in section 8.3.
8.3 We will write to you to advise if we wish to retain your data to enable us to consider you for other career opportunities. You will be given the opportunity to opt out. If we do not hear from you, we will continue to hold and process your data.
8.4 We will contact you from time to time to check that the personal data we hold about you is accurate, complete and up to date. It is your right as a data subject to let McCourt Newton Ltd know of any changes to your details at any time in order for us to maintain the accuracy of information held on you.
8.5 If you do choose for your details to remain on file, we will either delete your personal data after two years, or, contact you again to ensure the details we hold for you are accurate, to advise that we continue to retain your details, and to give you the opportunity to opt out.
