The business employs over 1000 people in the UK across 4 legal entities: Sika, Everbuild Building Products, Incorez and Enewall. As a result of continued and exponential growth, an exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager at Everbuild Building Products in Leeds.
The Leeds site houses a large, fast-paced, complex manufacturing business which operates 24/5 and supplies a wide range of building chemicals, sealants and adhesives to over 6,000 customers in the UK including blue-chip construction, E-commerce, trade distributors and privately owned builders/trades. The site employs over 400 people, manufactures over 8,000 SKU’s and houses chemical, formulation, filling, packaging and warehousing facilities.
Reporting to the Head of Operations UK and forming part of the Site Leadership team, you will be responsible for optimising Planning, Production, Engineering, Logistics and Warehousing functions, providing management and leadership to a team of 250, to support to the successful delivery of continued site growth. In co-ordination with the EHS, Quality management and CI functions, you will ensure that customers and legislative expectations are realised whilst ensuring all processes are efficient, effective and cost controlled.
Key to success will be the appointee’s ability to lead, manage, modernise, motivate and develop a cohesive team and support planned, £multi-million capital investment. Strong leadership skills and the ability to engage the workforce, from the shop floor upwards, to achieve common goals, share in success and develop a continuous improvement environment, will be paramount.
Candidates will ideally be educated to degree level with a strong operational management background gained in a high-volume, multiple SKU manufacturing environment e.g. chemical, plastics, packaging, FMCG, food etc. With proven KPI improvement success, the role requires exceptional and demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to achieve results, through others.
