Our Client is recognised as a world-leading manufacturer in its field, supplying an international, high profile, blue chip customer base.  Part of an innovative European Group, the site houses a range of complex manufacturing processes producing a diverse product range. The site is Unionised and operates on a 24/5 shift pattern.

A rare opportunity, with excellent short-term promotional prospects, has arisen for a proven and ambitious operations professional to join the site leadership team, contributing towards the delivery of the manufacturing and wider operations strategy, focused on profit and operational performance improvement. Reporting to the Site Operations Director, the Production Operations Manager will provide strong leadership and motivation to engage the current production team of c85 people, in order to continuously improve the people, process and plant, to support changing commercial demands. With a focus on Health & Safety, the Production Operations Manager will be responsible for driving Lean Management Principles and further developing the factory approach to PM (performance management) through increased levels of training, empowerment and accountability. There is a need to develop a robust succession plan and to capture expertise and knowledge through comprehensive quality systems, SOP’s and visual KPI’s.

Candidates should be degree qualified in a manufacturing, chemical, engineering or possibly business management discipline. With significant production management experience, including Lean management principles, candidates must be able to demonstrate strong change management/people development ability, gained in a Unionised, shift manufacturing (preferable multi-process) environment e.g. automotive, chemical, packaging, fmcg etc.

Accomplished leaders with a hands-on approach, and excellent communication skills, candidates will demonstrate energy and enthusiasm achieving success through inspiring teams to engage and contribute. There are excellent prospects for a high achiever to develop into the Site Operations Director role as part of current succession planning.
