Operations Manager
Rhymney, South Wales
£negotiable dependent on experience

The Berry Group is a leading global supplier of a broad range of innovative nonwoven, flexible and rigid products, used every day within consumer and industrial end markets.  Following acquisition of RPC, this combined successful Group generates sales in excess of $13 billion p.a. employing over 48,000 people worldwide.

The Recycled Products business is one of the largest recyclers in Europe, providing in excess of 70,000 tonnes of post-use material per year.  The Rhymney site, which employs 86 people, produces 18000 tonnes of material and extruded blown film for the construction sector.  The Unionised site also operates a wash plant producing post-use waste for use in the Group’s downstream production operations.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will assume day to day operational responsibility for the site across production, engineering and logistics, maintaining the site’s strong health and safety culture, which is always first priority. Your challenge will be to deliver an efficient and consistent output of recycled material and construction industry film, leading and engaging the team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost reduction. Key to your success will be your ability to motivate and inspire your team to achieve even greater levels of operational efficiency and provide the platform for future growth and expansion.

Candidates will have a proven operational management background, ideally gained in a plastics or plastics/material recycling environment, or similar high-volume manufacturing/industrial organisation.

You will be an accomplished people manager with a hands-on approach, able to demonstrate a sound track record of operational improvement.  Energy, enthusiasm, passion and ambition are all prerequisites for this key role.
