The Weener Group, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a full-service global supplier of innovative plastic packaging solutions focused on dispensing, containing and closing.  This ambitious global Group delivers unrivalled technologies and sustainable systems to their diverse customer base, from 29 facilities in 19 countries.

Weener Plastics in the UK, based in North Walsham, Norfolk, manufactures injection moulded caps and closures for the food, beverage, personal care and industrial sectors, supplying impressive blue chip brand owners.  Employing approximately 70 people, this already successful and well invested £multi-million p.a. business is poised for further growth through the development of innovative new products and market development.

We are now seeking a proven Managing Director, with a strong operational, commercial and financial background, to take full P&L responsibility for the site, developing and executing business strategies which will drive profitability and positive growth.   Harnessing the support of, and further developing and mentoring a committed and loyal workforce, you will ensure site improvement through operational excellence, identifying areas for cost reduction, whilst delivering sales growth, maximising profitability and fostering a customer focused, best practice culture.

Degree qualified, you will have an impressive track record in General Management, with full P&L responsibility, gained in a high-volume manufacturing environment such as packaging or FMCG.  Injection moulding experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Having developed through an operational route, into a broader General Management or a Managing Director role, and with sound commercial and financial acumen, including some personal experience of key account management, you will demonstrate a strong background in delivering improvement strategies, making a substantial impact on efficiency and business performance, as well as top line growth.   A clear and confident communicator, you will be capable of providing highly visible leadership, with the ability to maximize the full potential of your team, as well as forging strong customer relationships.
