Our client is a £multi-million p.a. t/o, rapidly expanding,
Reporting to the Managing Director and, as part of the Senior Management Team, you will combine a strategic and hands-on approach to delivering continuous improvement across the complete supply chain, identifying opportunities for service enhancement, process improvement and areas of cost reduction. Through a direct team of 3 (and 11 indirect warehousing), your extensive remit will include purchasing, planning, inventory and 3PL distribution control. With a commodity materials spend approaching £35m p.a., you will assume strategic responsibility for international and domestic materials sourcing, creating and analysing bids and negotiating robust supplier contracts in order to meet inventory goals and deliver exceptional OTIF results.
Educated to a high standard, and ideally but not essentially with CIPS qualifications, you must be able to demonstrate your understanding of all aspects of the supply chain and the impact it has on customer care. Your experience will have been gained in a fast moving, high volume, manufacturing environment, e.g. paper, plastics, corrugated, packaging, polymer, food, fmcg, chemical , where you have delivered significant efficiency and cost improvements. Your communication and negotiation skills will be combined with experience of process and systems improvement, and a commitment to leading and developing your team.
