A rare opportunity for a General Manager, with P&L responsibility, has arisen within the £12m p.a. t/o speciality corrugated sheet (print and conversion) Tannochside plant, employing 50-60 people operating on a flexible, 2/3 shift system with award winning flexo print with 5 colour and UV capability.
Your challenge will be to develop and own the strategic plan to grow its profitable position, expand the business, with a personal focus on sales growth, as well as operations and financial control to take it to the next level of growth and profitability, whilst delivering operational excellence and exceptional customer understanding and service.
The site enjoys long standing relationship with Scottish spirts customers and fresh food sectors and the General Manager will be responsible for continuing to grow sales for the site through a combination of strong existing key account development and new business activity, while ensuring that operational productivity is able to meet demand and the workforce of 50-60 people are continually developed. You will also gain insights into customer environments to ensure that the business anticipates and meets their needs.
Experience of operating at a Sales or General Management level in a corrugated/paper/board packaging or related industry e.g. plastics, cartons, POS display, etc. With a strong sales and customer focus, candidates will ideally have previous experience of selling into the spirits and fish fresh food packers in the Scottish region. With strong leadership and people management skills applicants should be comfortable with making decisions on a daily basis which can have significant financial impact on the business.
